About this Event

The 2019 KERU Symposium presents the Curriculum Design Coherence (CDC) Model. The CDC Model was developed by KERU members for:

• Professional development: A tool to assist schools and teachers in curriculum design

• Teacher education: A tool for pre-service teachers to acquire competency in course design

About the presenters

Professor Elizabeth Rata is the Director of the Knowledge in Education Research Unit and leads the Knowledge-Rich School Project.

Dr Graham McPhail is Senior Lecturer in music education at the Faculty of Education and Social Work at the University of Auckland.

Dr Alexis Siteine is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Critical Studies in Education and a member of the Knowledge in Education Research Unit. Alexis is working with Jean Batten School on the development of their school writing curriculum.

Sally Tibbles is artist teacher and Professional Teaching Fellow in baroque flute and studio pedagogy at the University of Auckland, and Head of Subject Co-Curricular Music at St Cuthbert’s College.

Mary Cornish is a music teacher at St Cuthbert’s College where she directs two choirs.

Barbara McGowan is Head of Faculty Science at Auckland Grammar School where she is responsible for the junior science programme and senior Earth and Space Science.

Dr John Etty is Director of Teaching and Learning and Head of Faculty Social Sciences at Auckland Grammar School.

Joann Palmer is Head of Faculty Mathematics and Statistics St Cuthbert’s College.

Josephine Pavlovich is Deputy Head of Faculty Mathematics and Statistics St Cuthbert’s College.
