Te Rito Maioha (ECNZ) welcomes the release of the finalised Statement of National Education and Learning Priorities (NELP) and the Tertiary Education Strategy (TES).
ECNZ Chief Executive Kathy Wolfe says it’s good that the NELP and TES have now been finalised.
“It is very pleasing to see alignment with the overarching vision for shaping a better education system for Aotearoa New Zealand, “she says.
“The priorities of both documents were reached following consultation with the sector and other stakeholders. As a bicultural organisation, ECNZ particularly welcomes the focus on the wellbeing of all learners and connection to their whānau, alongside a clear focus on strengthening te reo and tikanga Māori in our education system.”
“While there is no expectation that the NELP and TES priorities are going to be fully implemented immediately, it is good to see that the document released today has guidance on what good will look like across the education system, and the actions early learning services can put in place,” says Kathy Wolfe.
